i’m in love with the bow ties we got for the groomsmen. they are coming in from england, mrs. bow tie.

i think the color and velvet texture will be great for the fall. to really jazz the boys up – we are adding a pocket sqaure using the leftover material from my sisters’ dresses – can’t wait to see if it all plays out as well as i see it in my head…

just sayin’: headpiece hell

ok, wedding dilemma! i fell in love with a headpiece – a headpiece that costs as much as rent, a mortgage, some dresses even.

here it is:

006

and then there is me, finding out (after falling in love with it) that it is $1250.

now, i knew this was crazy, but then i fell into the “but i’ll never be photographered more, you only do this once, etc.” trap. luckily, i snapped out of it, and began the ‘finding a cheaper option’ search.

first up, bhldn:

belt 2

belt 1

i like the idea of wearing a belt on my head. so, i took these two with me to my dressing fitting in atlanta – they are both super reasonable ($200 – $300). with the direction of the queen bee (momma latifi) we landed on the second one.

but then….

belt 3

i found this one at anthro….it’s only $48

so, i decided to go with it and return the other two, but then…..

head piece

i found this one at bhdln. i’m so confused!

i made: extra invitation flair

here’s our letterpress  invites from the faboulous aerialist press! they turned out exactly as i had hoped. they’re simple, but made modern with type, and the circle adds a little hint of cuteness.

photo 2

i had grand plans for our invites – i love them, but i had wanted to add an imprint with an embosser, but that fell through with the move. we also forgot to include our ‘for more info card’.

so, we went on the search to figure out how to include our wedding website in the invite – and how to get a stamp made in super short notice. thank god for martha stewart! we found this stamp kit from michael’s  + bought bookmarks there to use as skinny wraps.

the smartest thing i did was organize them all before i got started with a box from my closet,

got the rsvp cards tucked in and ready for layering,

and then full assembly.

ok, not really; i tend to not be a gal that puts it all out there, so a tight little number for my bachelorette party was a stretch for me. turns out, i was still conservative compared to some of the girls we saw.
