i should buy: new warby parker shades

i need some new shades for the summer and you know me, i’m more a fan of the throwback styles, i’ve worn my dads vintage carreras into the ground, and i love my ray-bans but the wire frames aren’t durable enough for me.

i started poking around on warby parker because you get to try on 5 pairs (in your own house) and then they send a pair to someone in need. look good – do good, works for me!

a few friends and folks from work have ordered them, and it really is fun to try them on and model for friends – maybe i’ll turn it into a ‘shades and wine night’ at my place.

turns out they have a new collection – ocean avenue, it looks very 1970s & 1980s. i’m digging the different colors and patterns.

i love these 4 –

jules in marbled charcoal and ginger lemonade

sayles-sun-driftwood-front

sayles-sun-sugar-maple-angle

and the sayles in driftwood and sugar maple

then one more from the overall sunglass collection: i love the mabel, the liv, and the ellery….how to pick!

liv-sunglasses-burgundy-fade-front_2

i mean for under $100 – i should probably just order 10 and keep two!

i’ll let you know what happens.

i should copy: lessons in belting

i don’t normally post about celebs, but when you’re on crutches – it feels like all you can do is look at style from afar …le sigh.

i’m copying this. damn that olivia – she always gets it so right

a little sweater over the dress, half tucked in the front action

i should make: west elm and restoration knock-offs

less inspiration, more copy

West Elm Inspired:

  • The wood slates are a store display. They would be so easy to make; just use scrapes…
  • The terrariums are on sale, but I think I can make one cheaper – will copy

The bird cage lamp. They are so expensive!

Restoration Hardware

Of course, I think I can make one. I’ll buy a vintage bird cage stand and then have the chandelier installed in the center (like the 3rd pic above). Sounds easy enough….

i should buy: a horse hair brush

How great are these pieces? I went furniture cruising with my mom. Love the natural neutrals, and the horse hair brush thing. Must buy one for the coffee table.

i should make: preppin’ for a b-day bash

I have a friend’s big number b-day coming up. He’s a gem – to celebrate he rented a house in Palm Springs….I know, right?

I have no idea what the space or set-up will be like. But, I’m imagining…

an outdoor seating:

with rustic decor,

sectioned by paper placemats and

folded handkerchief napkins,

accented with masculine flowers and

diy tassel garland!

Colors: We’ll, have to see what I can find floral wise in Palm Springs, but I’m thinking cream and neutrals.

More to come, all sources linked. Enjoy!
