i shopped: 2 hello beautiful & the gilt warehouse sale

a little insider info here!

i’m big on mixing hi/low priced items and my arm stack is no different. now, if i could afford to stack 5 deep with hermes bracelets…i probably would, but i have a dog to feed.

so, when i found out to: hello beautiful (a cute blog out of atlanta) was starting an affordable jewelry line – i was ready to shop!

i love the savannah – the gold accents make it perfect to stack with all my j crew bangles, but they have so many other great, super affordable options – it gets better. head over to to shop and enter UNICORN for $5 off a $10 + purchase.

i think i’ll get the gisele next:

and another thing, if you’re in chicago: this is my big sale ladies – it’s like christmas for me!

it’s coming saturday april 13th – the gilt city chicago legendary warehouse sale. i’ve honestly gotten some of my most prized dresses here! this year a little birdie informed me they’ll have beverages, special offers, services, and swag from brands like Uber and Exhale….

tickets range from $10 – $15 at the museum of contemporary art warehouse (1747 west hubbard street)

i’ll remind you again, but tickets will go on sale the week of April 1st at

i wore: bringing the spring

as promised, here’s what i wore to last night’s chicago blogger network event for the 4th annual cheeky chicago spring fashion show. i’ve been dying to wear the skirt and almost froze (it was 34 in chicago – why?!).

but, i wanted to bring the spring:

did you catch my new fuscia horse-bit bracelet? great for armstacking –  more on that tomorrow!

and i won 3rd place for my spring attire, selected by the chicago blogger network – so freezing was worth it. especially, since it came with makeup and brushes by a fab chicago-based makeup line: morgan marie beauty!

oh hey gurl…

just sayin’: bridesmaid dresses

it’s a wedding post!

remember once upon a time when i found the most perfect bridesmaid dresses and thought it was too good to be true…well, it was. but, this time we’re for real.

after a blunder with trying to buy off the rack, we’re using weddington way. it’s basically the facebook of bridesmaid dress shopping. you pick a dress or two, add it to your showroom – and then invite your bridal party to view, discuss, and like. not only is it free, but the dresses i picked we’re about $50 less through weddington way!

here’s what we’re going with:

1. my sisters’ amazing ml monique lhuillier one-shoulder floral-print gown; purchased on gilt

and these two donna morgan ’emily’ dresses in complimentary colors:

and it goes a little something like this:

i made: a bundle of flowers $12; engagement session

sorry i’ve been away! we went home this past weekend for our engagement pics.

i knew wanted a big bundle of something white to carry around. baby’s breath: on trend, affordable, and it looked great at the recent baby shower we threw.

here’s how it all came together:

  • i bought 3 bunches from the grocery store, and cut the stems to different lengthens, creating a dome shape
  • i went back through and stuffed pieces on the top to make it look full

i was so pressed on time, my little sister alexis finished the project for me:

  • first, she wrapped all the stems in electrical tape
  • then she wrapped the base with a twine – like rope we bought at wal mart. she glued it in place with a hot glue gun every few wraps
  • she looped the bottom to create a circular knob as the end, like a little cap

perfect – right?!

here it is in action….

Glass Jar Photography 463

and here’s one little sneak peak from our photographers at glass jar (look at more of their amazing work here & on Facebook)….they are nothing short of amazing! it was 40degrees outside and we were freezing, but it was worth it.

i can’t wait to share more and the other outfit when it’s all done!
